Media attacks 'the people' again

We saw it with the tea parties, and we're seeing it all over again with the Health Care town hall 'goers.' It's tough to call them 'activists' or 'protesters' because they are really neither of those -- just concerned citizens who've come to give their representatives a piece of their mind. What's more American than that? The left leaning media disagrees, apparently.

Obama's Science Czar: Traditional family is obsolete, punish large families

In this Oct. 17, 2007 file photo, John Holdren, professor of Environmental Science and Public Policy in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard University, speaks at the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy presentations in Pittsburgh. (AP Photo/Keith Srakocic, File)

President Obama's Science Czar, John Holdren, took a controversial and amoral approach to the science of population by recommending mass compulsory sterilization and even forced abortion (and/or forced marriages) under certain circumstances. His 1977 tome, Ecoscience, which he co-authored with Paul and Anne Ehrlich, also displays a revealing disregard for the institution of the traditional human family.

Holdren and the Ehrlichs write:

Radical changes in family structure and relationships are inevitable, whether population control is instituted or not. Inaction, attended by a steady deterioration in living conditions for the poor majority, will bring changes everywhere that no one could consider beneficial. Thus, it is beside the point to object to population-control measures simply on the grounds that they might change the social structure or family relationships.

Holdren, with a blithe “of course,” encourages government to wage an effective war on the family in America. It begins with the abolition of “pronatalist” policies and continues with their complete reversal:

As United States taxpayers know, income tax laws have long implicitly encouraged marriage and childbearing...Such a pronatalist bias of course is no longer appropriate. In countries that are affluent enough for the majority of citizens to pay taxes, tax laws could be adjusted to favor (instead of penalize) single people, working wives, and small families. Other tax measures might also include high marriage fees, taxes on luxury baby goods and toys, and removal of family allowances where they exist. Other possibilities include the limitation of maternal or educational benefits to two children per family.

Holdren notes that some of these proposals “have the potential disadvantage of heavily penalizing children (and in the long run society as well).” This is not a disqualifier, though, as long as the proposals are “carefully adjusted to avoid denying at least minimum care for poor families, regardless of the number of children they may have.” Even here, the objection is practical, not ethical. It's fine to level stiff penalties against those who choose families and children, but not to the point that this policy exacerbates the original problem (unwanted children, living in squalor) that population control purports to combat.

Some Americans might cite the Founding Fathers and argue that a government whose policy is to make war on the family in the name of science has clearly overstepped its mandate. That was not the opinion expressed by John Holdren, the man President Obama has put in charge in the nation's science policy.

Another great email!

Sad to say, this is probably the opinion of most Americans, be they Democrats, Republicans or what have you. They have earned our distrust by their actions. Why do we keep electing the same crooks? The president is restricted to two terms. Why not these crooks? We have no one to blame but ourselves. Just for the record, only 22-23 percent of our elected officials ever served in the military. Real patriots these folks. Real patriots. As a veteran they make me sick to my stomach. Bernie

This is really good

OUTSTANDING..... I'm sure there are countless numbers of us that wish we had written this letter, it says almost all there is to say to Boxer and her team mates.....

Jim Hill's Letter to Barbara Boxer

Many of us witnessed the arrogance of Barbara Boxer as she admonished a brigadier general because he addressed her as "ma'am" and not "Senator" before a Senate hearing. This letter is from a National Guard
aviator and Captain for Alaska Airlines. I wonder what he would have said if
he were really angry. Long fly Alaska !!!!!

Dear Senator Boxer:
You were so right on when you scolded the general on TV for using
the term, "ma'am," instead of "Senator". After all, in the military, "ma'am"
is a term of respect when addressing a female of superior rank or position.
The general was totally wrong. You are not a person of superior rank or
position. You are a member of one of the world's most corrupt organizations,
the U.S. Senate, equaled only by the U.S. House of Representatives.
Congress is a cesspool of liars, thieves, inside traders, traitors,
drunks (one who killed a staffer, yet is still revered), criminals, and
other low level swine who, as individuals (not all, but many), will do
anything to enhance their lives, fortunes and power, all at the expense of
the People of the United States and its Constitution, in order to be
continually re-elected. Many democrats even want American troops killed by
releasing photographs. How many of you could honestly say, "We pledge our
lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor"? None? One? Two?
Your reaction to the general shows several things. First is your
abysmal ignorance of all things military. Your treatment of the general
shows you to be an elitist of the worst kind. When the general entered the
military (as most of us who served) he wrote the government a blank check,
offering his life to protect your derriere, now safely and comfortably
ensconced in a 20 thousand dollar leather chair, paid for by the general's
taxes. You repaid him for this by humiliating him in front of millions.
Second is your puerile character, lack of sophistication, and
arrogance which borders on the hubristic. This display of brattish behavior
shows you to be a virago, termagant, harridan, nag, scold or shrew, unfit
for your position, regardless of the support of the unwashed, uneducated
masses who have made California into the laughing stock of the nation.
What I am writing, Senator, are the same thoughts countless millions
of Americans have toward Congress, but who lack the energy, ability or time
to convey them. Under the democrats, some don't even have the 44 cents to
buy the stamp. Regardless of their thoughts, most realize that politicians
are pretty much the same, and will vote for the one who will bring home the
most bacon, even if they do consider how corrupt that person is. Lord Acton
(1834 - 1902) so aptly charged, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power
corrupts absolutely." Unbeknownst to you and your colleagues, "Mr. Power"
has had his way with all of you, and we are all the worse for it.
Finally Senator, I, too, have a title. It is "Right Wing Extremist
Potential Terrorist Threat." It is not of my choosing, but was given to me
by your Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. And you were
offended by "ma'am"?
Have a fine day. Cheers!

The following letter is rapidly circulating around the country. Americans everywhere identify with this 53-year-old woman. She has given many a voice. Once you read this, you may want to forward it to all of your friends...

I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represented my views or worked to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?

Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.

Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there?

Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello!!! Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why -- what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band-Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try -- please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for.. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now. Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the businesss of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same - all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending.

From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making.

We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington . Our president often knows all the right buzzwords is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work, pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you.

You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured.

They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have canceled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when he will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you.

You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired, and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are.

If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep, and we will replace the whole damn Congress if need be, one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.

It's time to bring Congress back into the real world!

The key point to the email below is that we (the U.S. Taxpayer) pay for the generous retirement plan our congress people receive when they r etire. They do not make contributions to their retirement fund, it is funded from tax receipts. Why is this the case?

Well, congress wrote the legislation to give themselves a generous pension plan for when they retire, then voted and passed the legislation. This is definitely not fair, or equitable. How many of you get to write how your companies's retirement plans are structured and pay your after y ou retire? How many of you set your own salaries? My bet is none of you.

I think the current congressional retirement plan should be amended. First, a congress person's retirement pay should be no more than 70% of their last year's congressional salary. Secondly, they should be required to contribute to the funding of the plan. Finally, once these changes to the plan are implemented, Congress cannot make changes to the plan. They can only change the amount they contribute.

Another important point is our congress people do not contribute to social security, nor can they collect from social security. If you don't pay in, you don't get anything out. Maybe if congress people were required to contribute to social security, they would care more about its future.

Now the table has been set, so please read the following.

Social Security 2009

LET US SHOW OUR LEADERS IN WASHINGTON "PEOPLE POWER" AND THE POWER OF THE INTERNET.
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT!

Propose this in 2009:
START A BILL TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOCIAL SECURITY ---------------------------------- SOCIAL SECURITY: Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years. Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it. You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan. In more recent years, no congressperson has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan. For all practical purposes their plan works like this: When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die. Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments... For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7, 800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000..00 during the last years of their lives. This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries. Younger Dignitari es who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives. The ir cost for this excellent plan is $0.00. NADA!!! ZILCH!!!

This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds; "OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"! >From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into, every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer), We can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month after retirement. Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits! Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made. That change would be to Jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen.. Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us Then sit back...... And see how fast they would fix it!

Be sure to read the #1 most expensive catastrophe in history.

#11 Titanic - $150 Million
The sinking of the Titanic is possibly the most famous accident in the world. But it barely makes our list of top 10 most expensive. On April 15, 1912, the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage and was considered to be the most luxurious ocean liner ever built. Over 1,500 people lost their lives when the ship ran into an iceberg and sunk in frigid waters. The ship cost $7 million to build ($150 million in toda
y 's dollars).

#10 Tanker Truck vs. Bridge -
$358 Million

On August 26, 2004, a car collided with a tanker truck containing 32,000 liters of fuel on the Wiehltal Bridge in Germany
. The tanker crashed through the guardrail and fell 90 feet off the A4 Autobahn resulting in a huge explosion and fire which destroyed the load- bearing ability of the bridge. Temporary repairs cost $40 million and the cost to replace the bridge is estimated at $318 Million.

#9 MetroLink Crash -
$500 Million

On September 12, 2008, in what was one of the worst train crashes in California history, 25 people were killed when a Metrolink commuter train crashed head-on into a Union Pacific freight train in Los Angeles . It is thought that the Metrolink train may have run through a red signal while the conductor was busy text messaging.. Wrongful death lawsuits are expected to cause $500 million in losses for Metrolink.

#8 B-2 Bomber Crash -
$1.4 Billion

Here we have our first billion dollar accident (and we're only #7 on the list). This B-2 stealth bomber crashed shortly after taking off from an air base in Guam on February 23, 2008. Investigators blamed distorted data in the flight control computers caused by moisture in the system. This resulted in the aircraft making a sudden nose-up move which made the B-2 stall and crash. This was 1 of only 21 ever built and was the most expensive aviation accident in history. Both pilots were able to eject to safety.

cid:image005.jpg@01C9F6B2.D16F1760

#7 Exxon Valdez -
$2.5 Billion

The Exxon Valdez oil spill was not a large one in relation to the world's biggest oil spills, but it was a costly one due to the remote location of Prince William Sound (accessible only by helicopter and boat). On March 24, 1989, 10.8 million gallons of oil was spilled when the ship's Captain, Joseph Hazelwood, left the controls and the ship crashed into a Reef. The cleanup cost Exxon $2.5 billion.
cid:image006.jpg@01C9F6B2.D16F1760

#6 Piper Alpha Oil Rig -
$3.4 Billion

The world's worst off-shore oil disaster. At one time, it was the world's single largest oil producer, spewing out 317,000 barrels of oil per day. On July 6, 1988, as part of routine maintenance, technicians removed and checked safety valves which were essential in preventing dangerous build-up of liquid gas. There were 100 identical safety valves which were checked. Unfortunately, the technicians made a mistake and forgot to replace one of them. At 10 PM that same night, a technician pressed a start button for the liquid gas pumps and the world's most expensive oil rig accident was set in motion. Within 2 hours, the 300 foot platform was engulfed in flames. It eventually collapsed, killing 167 workers and resulting in $3.4 Billion in damages.

#5 Challenger Explosion -
$5.5 Billion

The Space Shuttle Challenger was destroyed 73 seconds after takeoff due on January 28, 1986 due to a faulty O-ring. It failed to seal one of the joints, allowing pressurized gas to reach the outside. This in turn caused the external tank to dump its payload of liquid hydrogen causing a massive explosion. The cost of replacing the Space Shuttle was $2 billion in 1986 ($4.5 billion in today's dollars). The cost of investigation, problem correction, and replacement of lost equipment cost $450 million from 1986-1987 ($1 Billion in today's dollars).

#4 Prestige Oil Spill -
$12 Billion

On November 13, 2002, the Prestige oil tanker was carrying 77,000 tons of heavy fuel oil when one of its twelve tanks burst during a storm off Galicia , Spain .. Fearing that the ship would sink, the captain called for help from Spanish rescue workers, expecting them to take the ship into harbor. However, pressure from local authorities forced the captain to steer the ship away from the coast. The captain tried to get help from the French and Portuguese authorities, but they too ordered the ship away from their shores. The storm eventually took its toll on the ship resulting in the tanker splitting in half and releasing 20 million gallons oil into the sea.
According to a report by the Pontevedra Economist Board, the total cleanup cost $12 billion.

#3 Space Shuttle Columbia -
$13 Billion

The Space Shuttle Columbia was the first space worthy shuttle in NASA's orbital fleet. It was destroyed during re-entry over Texas on February 1, 2003 after a hole was punctured in one of the wings during launch 16 days earlier. The original cost of the shuttle was $2 Billion in 1978. That comes out to $6.3 Billion in today's dollars. $500 million was spent on the investigation, making it the costliest aircraft accident investigation in history. The search and recovery of debris cost $300 million. In the end, the total cost of the accident (not including replacement of the shuttle) came out to $13 Billion according to the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics..
cid:image010.jpg@01C9F6B2.D16F1760

#2 Chernobyl -
$200 Billion

On April 26, 1986, the world witnessed the costliest accident in history. The Chernobyl disaster has been called the biggest socio-economic catastrophe in peacetime history. 50% of the area of Ukraine is in some way contaminated. Over 200,000 people had to be evacuated and resettled while 1.7 million people were directly affected by the disaster. The death toll attributed to Chernobyl , including people who died from cancer years later, is estimated at 125,000. The total costs including cleanup, resettlement, and compensation to victims has been estimated to be roughly $200 Billion. The cost of a new steel shelter for the Chernobyl nuclear plant will cost $2 billion alone. The accident was officially attributed to power plant operators who violated plant procedures and were ignorant of the safety requirements needed.

Physicians speak out on health care bill

Many say the costly plan won't fix problems

By CINDY HORSWELL
HOUSTON CHRONICLE

Aug. 6, 2009, 10:04PM

Rep. Kevin Brady said Medicare needs to be fixed before new reforms are enacted.

Physicians jammed a town hall meeting in The Woodlands on Thursday, expressing fears about the cost and effectiveness of a health care reform bill that could come up for a vote in Congress as early as September.

U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady, R-The Woodlands, hosted the meeting attended by about 90 physicians at Memorial Hermann Hospital-The Woodlands.

“The bottom line is that doctors don't want socialized medicine — another flawed health care system like Medicare. They don't believe it will lower the costs or improve quality,” Brady said. “Medicare is already going bankrupt and not quality care. It also shifts medical costs onto other paying customers. It needs to be fixed first.”

The bill is designed to insure 94 percent of all Americans (excluding those covered by Medicare, which kicks in at age 65) and would cost an estimated $1.5 trillion over 10 years. The revenue to pay for it would come from $544 billion over the next decade in income taxes on single people making more than $280,000 annually and couples making more than $350,000 annually; $37 billion in business taxes; $500 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid; and sizable penalties paid by individuals and employers who don't obtain coverage.

“I am very concerned about what this will cost us in terms of dollars,” said Dr. William Parker, the chief medical officer where the meeting was held. “Before this week, they did not tell us any details of the plan. We've had too little time to read, digest and discuss something that will be such a major overhaul of the health care system.”

U.S. Rep. Gene Green, a Democrat who represents a blue-collar area from Baytown to Denver Harbor east of Houston, has held four meetings on the health care plan and received mixed reviews.

“There seems to be an organized Republican effort to have people come to a Democrat's town meeting and dominate the discussions,” Green said. “Some have admitted they don't live in my area. This has never happened to me before.”

He plans to hold more meetings and only admit those who live in his district. Green said many citizens seem to have misconceptions about the plan. He said it will be a boost for his lower-income district, which has many more uninsured residents than The Woodlands.

“This plan will provide health care for 223,000 of the 243,000 who have no health care plans in my district,” he said

OIL (YOU NEED TO KNOW!)

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April ('08) that only
scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a
revised report ( hadn't been updated since '95) on how much oil was in
this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota ; western South Dakota ;
and extreme eastern Montana ...... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's Prudhoe
Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on
foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at
503 billion barrels.. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at
$107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3
trillion.

'When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see
their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.' says Terry Johnson, the
Montana Legislature's financial analyst.

'This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found
in the past 56 years' reports, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a
formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred
to as the 'Bakken.' And it stretches from Northern Montana, through
Nor th Dakota and into Canada . For years, U. S. oil exploration has
been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up
searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent
technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive
reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And
because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost
Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years
straight.

2. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should
- because it's from TWO YEARS AGO!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World!
Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the
largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION
barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In
three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With
this mother load of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore
drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders,
than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official
estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
- 18-times as much oil as Iraq
- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait
- 22-t imes as much oil as Iran
- 500-times as much oil as Yemen
- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the
environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America
become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group
of people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in
this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION
barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude
oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think
again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think
OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?
Got your attention/ire up yet? Hope so! Now, while you're thinking
about it ... and hopefully P.O'd, do this:

3. Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then
you should stifle yourself the next time you want to complain ab out gas
prices .. because by doing NOTHING, you've forfeited your right to
complain.
--------
Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you
sent this to every one in your address book.
By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!
GOOGLE it or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) will hold an open house town hall meeting in Kittanning. As is his custom during the Senate’s August recess, Senator Specter will host town halls throughout Pennsylvania and invite constituents to discuss issues important to the region, the state, and the nation.

Senator Specter will address the audience briefly and devote the remainder of the hour to responding to residents’ questions and concerns.

Week of AUGUST 17, 2009 (tentative)

We will not be having a 9-12 Pittsburgh Tea Party but...The Tea Party Express (Our Country Deserves Better PAC & our National Tea Party Patriots Group) will be caravaning across the country from California on their way to the National 9-12 Tea Party March on DC. They will be stopping in Pittsburgh on Sep 9th at 2:30 p.m. We will be hosting this group and will be using this event as our Tea Party instead of attempting to organize a local tea party on Sep 12 when we'll have limited staff because most of us will also be going to DC. We encourage everyone to attend! It will be eventful, I can assure you! It is a Tea Party Protest but will be entertaining as well ! The event will be at the Veterans Memorial at North Boundary Park in Cranberry. There is ample parking by the pool and the baseball fields. We suggest you arrive early (say between 2-2:15 p.m.) since they are coming in from Canton, OH, and could arrive a little early. We have scheduled this event in Cranberry because they will be heading to Johnstown after our Tea Party, and it is easier to get on/off the highway with less road time. The flyer for this event is attached and we would appreciate it if you would download it and print copies off to post around your area and hand out to your friends and family. Here is a link to their website so you can take a look at what they have planned!
LET'S ALL COME OUT AND SHOW THE NATIONAL GROUP THAT PITTSBURGH HAS WONDERFUL PATRIOTS WHO ARE WILLING TO STAND UP FOR THEIR COUNTRY!!

SEPTEMBER 12, 2009
National Tea Party March on D.C. Numerous organizations are combining to organize this event. Please take a look at their website: http://912dc.org/ They are expecting at least ONE MILLION people to attend this march and event. We need to stand up and this could be a defining moment!
We will be marching down Pennsylvania Avenue from the Freedom Plaza to the West Front of the U.S. Capitol Building where there will be a program of noteable speakers. The march is about 3 miles and will begin at 10 a.m. It is imperative that anyone contemplating going to this event and being with us be aware of the fact that there will be considerable walking and standing at the Capitol Building. There will be no place to sit.
The Pittsburgh Tea Party Planning Group will be offering bus(es) for this trip going down very early (around 3-3:30 a.m.) the morning of Sep 12 and returning in the evening the same day (leaving DC around 6-7 p.m.). Details will be on our website: www.pittsburghteapartymovement.com by the end of the day (Thurs). You can sign right up with a credit card on our website thru paypal. The cost will be $49 which covers your seat, the gratuity for the bus driver, the credit card fees and gives us a little money for expenses and emergencies.
We will be attempting to offer as many buses as we have passengers for and we must have a good idea by August 16 as to how many buses we will need. Once a manifest is set on a bus, money will not be refunded (if you find you can't go, you can sell your seats or give them to someone else). If we end up with a bus that is half full at the deadline, we will refund people's money. However, we will be working with other organizations to pick up their overages to help fill up our last bus. Our buses will also be covering the 9-12 Wexford Group and we will have one bus leaving from the North Hills. We would encourage you to make the decision to go. It is one day in your life and just might be the most important contribution you will ever be able to make to your country.
Due to the fact that they are anticipating so many people in DC, the city is requiring buses entering the city for the March pay for permits. We have decided to not have our buses go into D.C. but rather drop us all off at the Rosslyn Metro Station and we will take the train into a station closest to the Freedom Plaza where the March will begin. We will then walk from the Capitol after the event to a different, closer station to go back to the bus(es) at the Rosslyn station. Specific details will be provided to those who sign up to ride a bus and also on the bus(es). The cost for this will be $1.35 each way per person and metro tickets can be purchased on line prior to the trip. Those details will also be provided to people who sign up.
Let's take our Pittsburgh Patriot Voices to D.C.!!! Email pghteaparties@aol.com with questions.

SEPTEMBER 12, 2009

SEPTEMBER 19, 2009
Family Preparedness Seminar, St. John of the Highlands Church, 311 Cumberland Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237
("Highland Hall located around the back of the building" )
This event costs $20,00 per person due to the supplies that are used to conduct the Seminar.
This event is being offered by the 9.12 Wexford Group; however, Steve Harris is a member of the Tea Party Planning Group so we thought we'd share the information with you.

Please go to the 9.12 Wexford Meetup Site to RSVP ( http://www.meetup.com/Glenn-Beck-s-We-Surround-Them-Viewing-Party/) & plan to pay price of admission in cash, $20/single and $30/couple, at the event. A portion of the money will go to The Pittsburgh 912 Project*

Steve has professionally given the class to government, military, police and fire department as well as first responders and individual families such as yourselves.

*From Steve Harris*
The class is EXTREMELY hands on. It is very no-nonsense and you do not need any 'special items' from anywhere. Everything in the ENTIRE CLASS is available in every grocery store. You'll leave
the class with hands on experience and knowledge. Its just like having a CPR class, you leave with the knowledge of how to do it.

The class will cover in detail, food, water, storage, preparation of the food. Come to the class just a bit hungry. Do NOT eat before the class. We will feed you in the class. You'll be amazed at the speed and the quality of the food. This class is like NOTHING you've ever had before, or even think you've had before.

The class can be up to 4 hours long, but you'll swear it was 40 minutes and it will hold you with rapt attention.

This class is for ADULTS ONLY. NO CHILDREN. The class contains adult subjects; Survival, desperation, attitude and the subject of death. The presenters language may be quite harsh at times and
direct and to the point. An occasional vulgarity or curse might slip from the presenter, but the subject itself is dead serious.

SEPTEMBER 24, 2009
The Freedom Conference is the vision of a coalition of five Pittsburgh grassroots organizations and our partners (The Pittsburgh Tea Party Planning Group is one of those organizations). We believe in limited government and free market solutions to our problems, and work to present those. Our main event, scheduled for September 24 at Soldiers and Sailors Hall, will explain about the G-20 Summit and what it means for you. Few people realize the power that these people have, but we will make clear what their proposals will cost, whether they will answer to you, and why you should be informed. We invite people who share our vision to help us make this event a success, as we also invite those who want to learn more to join and become aware.Learn more about what is planned at www.freedomconference2009.com, including the August 16th planning picnic.
If you have questions, please email pghteaparties@aol.com.
Thanks and God Bless America!
